StarDates

The basic premise is as simple as can be:  A single one-design series, made up of five winter regattas including a 3-day Schoonmaker Cup and a 4-day Midwinter Championship*, all sailed out of a great club with an economical and convenient storage solution.  The Star Winter Series also sets your boat up perfectly for the Zagarino Masters Regatta in February, and the Bacardi Cup in March.

The official 2023-2024 Winter Series schedule *:

* For each of the Two-day regattas (Commodore’s, Levin, and Walker Cups), one Race constitutes a Regatta. For the Schoonmaker Cup and Midwinters, three (3) races constitute a Regatta.

* Each regatta score counts the same toward the Series Score. If all three Two-day regattas are completed, a boat may discard her worst of those scores. The scores for the Schoonmaker Cup and the Midwinters may not be discarded.
The sum of a boat’s Two-day regatta scores  (less a discard if applicable) plus the Schoonmaker Cup and Midwinter regatta scores, will determine her place in the Star Winter Series.  In the event of a tie for the overall Series, the Series Championship ties will be decided by your place in Midwinters. See NoR Section 10 for details.
